The Old Stables, Near Alkham
Looking across woodland (a sea of bluebells come late Spring!) and the owner’s vineyard just beyond, you are set in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beautiful. There are some fantastic walks to be had right from the cottage with the critically acclaimed Marquis restaurant and Alkham village just a mile away. The cottage has been tastefully furnished to a contemporary quality finish. There is a shared terrace and lawn outdoor space with outdoor furniture as well as an additional private seating area.
The Cottage
You are greeted with a spacious open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area. The kitchen is modern and well equipped, including a dishwasher and washing machine, electric oven and hob. Plenty of dining and lounge seating space. The master bedroom includes a king size double bed as well as an ensuite shower room with his and hers basins, WC and shower. There is also a separate utility room. A put-up bed is available for a 3rd guest.
The Location
The countryside offers plenty of opportunity for walkers and pets, with public footpaths covering the surrounding area immediately from the property. Enjoy access to the neighbouring vineyard and feel free to get stuck in at harvest time in the autumn! The Marquis is often regarded as one of the best restaurants in Kent, sourcing local ingredients for a fine dining experience and is just up the road in nearby Alkham. Both Dover and Folkestone are only 15 minutes by car, giving good access to the continent by boat or Eurotunnel as well as a range of amenities and a coastline including the famous White Cliffs.
