North Downs Cottage, Nr Canterbury

Set in a stone barn high in the North Downs area of outstanding natural beauty, the cottage, one of five, has been restored respecting the original flint features of the building. Surrounded by paddocks, working farmland and forests – perfect for exploring the countryside with plenty of beautiful walks and miles of bridle paths in the area, yet within close proximity to the historic city of Canterbury.

The Cottage

Through the entrance you are greeted with an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area. The kitchen comes equipped with cooking necessities and the lounge includes a flatscreen television with DVD and Freeview, double french doors lead out to a patio and garden area. On the first floor there is a full bathroom with WC, over-bath shower and basin as well as airing cupboard with plenty of hanging space. The master bedroom includes a double bed, armchair and bedside tables and the second twin bedroom has solid oak beds, a large wardrobe, bedside table and chair with views across the rear paddocks.

The Location

Located in hectares of parkland between the rural villages of Petham and Waltham there is plenty to explore right on your doorstep with local pubs and access to some amazing forests all within a good distance of the cottage. The property is located on working farmland so the yard and stables can be active for long hours. Canterbury has an array of fantastic restaurants and shops, it is heaving with history featuring the famous Cathedral, age old city wall and Chaucer Tales. Day trips to London are quick and easy with the high speed trains from Ashford. Equally, trips to the continent can just as easily be taken with either Eurostar, by boat or via Eurotunnel.
