Lilac Cottage, Kingsdown
Kingsdown is very well known for its quaintness. You are just a 2 minute walk to the sea or the same to the village centre where you will find a range of shops and a choice of 3 pubs all serving food. The cottage has been up-dated to a good standard and has some lovely original features such as natural wooden floors, fireplaces and doors. On the other hand you have the modern comforts of Wi-Fi, fully equipped kitchen, conservatory, 3Television sets and gas fired central heating. There are a number of steps to the cottage from the parking area!
The Cottage
Lilac Cottage has a small front facing patio with bench if you like to people watch! You enter via the front lounge which has a 3 seater leather settee, which can also be used as a sofa bed for a 5th person. There is a comfy middle lounge includes a wood burning stove and TV. The bathroom is also ground floor and has a bath, separate shower, w/c and basin. The kitchen is well equipped and has its own TV. The kitchen also hosts a nice dining area under a fabulous roof light. This leads to a comfortable conservatory and onto a nice South facing, part decked, part grass, fully fenced garden with table and chairs. Upstairs, the main rear South facing bedroom has a 5ft Victorian style bed, Colour flatscreen TV, wardrobe and hanging space. There is an en-suite w/c with basin. The second bedroom offers a 2 single beds with built in wardrobe and other storage. Possible 5th person on a sofa bed at plus £50.
The Location
A village next to the sea, known to many across the World, Kingsdown is nestled between the gateway port of Dover to the South and the historic town of Deal to its North. The village has a newsagents/general store,3 pubs, a butchers, post office and a hairdressers. Some great walking or cycling along the coastal paths and nearby St Margarets Bay is a must visit. Canterbury with its famous Cathedral and many historical features is a 30 minute drive. Dover, Walmer and Deal Castles, just a 10 minute drive. Good bus services every hour through the village and trains from Dover and Deal can get you pretty much anywhere. Take the ferry to Calais!
