Once part of the Leeds Castle estate, this near 200 year old cottage offers a feel of the past. There is a good size working inglenook fireplace with log grate. (Wood supplied if required). There are beams and original fireplaces in the bedrooms. The fenced Cottage Garden has many features including a pond with some good sized fish. You will have to feed them though! There is a BBQ and garden furniture including a romantic double seat overlooking the fish pond.
The Cottage.
The Cottage Lounge offers a good range of entertainment which includes Freeview and a range of Videos and books. The Kitchen dining area has a coal fired Rayburn which is used from the end of October until around Easter for heating and if preferred to the electric hob and oven, for cooking. Coal Supplied. Electric heaters are also supplied. There is a small utility space next to the kitchen with a separate freezer. The main bedroom is of good size and character and offer great views across the North Downs. The 2nd bedroom is fitted with 2ft6in bunk style beds. A put you up bed is also available. The bathroom has bath with hand held shower, w/c and basin.
The Location
Mount Pleasant Cottages are situated on the edge of the small village of Platts heath near Lenham. The neighbouring Village of Grafty Green has a Pub serving food and Lenham has restaurants and shops. This is a great location for walkers and the North Downs Way is a must. Leeds castle is only 5 minutes drive and there is good access to Maidstone and Ashford.
