This traditional Kent farm dating back to the 16th Century is set amidst glorious countryside at the end of a one mile farm track in the heart of the Weald of Kent. This is a perfect hideaway for a relaxing country holiday. An ideal base from which to explore leafy country lanes, visit stately homes, castles and delightful gardens which abound in this area, or enjoy a long leisurely lunch in one of the many village Inns. You may prefer to stay on the farm and feed the ducks, play tennis, enjoy the views, or walk in the forest. Miniumum age of 10 and maybe not suitable for the infirm due to 3 lots of stairs.
The Cottage
This stunning accommodation is part of an oast house. It is stylishly and comfortably furnished, with exceptional views from the balcony, across farmland, to Bedgebury Pinetum and the Great Lake. Ground floor entrance hall with wood burning stove, one double bedded room and bathroom. Upstairs to the living accommodation, comprising a large well equipped kitchen, dining room, living room and balcony. The second bathroom is on this level. Up a steep flight of stairs over the living room is a galleried large bedroom with three single beds. The third bedroom has two single beds.
The Location
This farm is located in the heart of the Kentish Weald, ten miles southeast of Royal Tunbridge with plenty to interest a country visitor. The nearest shops are in Goudhurst, a charming old Kent village with church, inns, tea shops and restaurants. There are golf courses at Ticehurst, Hawkhurst, Cranbrook and Tunbridge Wells. Riding is available close by. A footpath running from the farm gives direct access to Bedgebury Forest, with several miles of footpath, birdlepaths and cycle routes. Bewl Water reservoir has fly fishing and boat trips. Within 30 minutes drive to many historic sites and gardens.
