The Old Bakery. Battle
This Cottage may not be the largest we have but it offers a very high standard of accomodation for those who enjoy the good things in life. The interior pictures will be available when the work is complete. You are able to walk directly from the Cottage garden into The Great Wood, part of this 1066 Historic area. Sleep and walk in the same area as William the Conquerer and King Harold did nearly a thousand years before.
The Cottage
The entrance is from the rear patio which offers a peaceful setting on the edge of The Great Wood. The lounge / bedroom has a vaulted ceiling with beams and an ingelnook fireplace with woodburning stove. There is a kingsize 4 Poster bed with curtains, flat screen TV with DVD player. The Kitchen includes a dishwasher and microwave. There is a shower room with w/c and basin. A put you up bed is available for a child at
The Location
Within easy walking distance of one of the South Easts most talked about towns this lovely location will be hard to beat. The cottage is found in the large well kept gardens of a period manor house which is found at the bottom of a private lane on the edge of the village. Battle has the Abbey at its heart but offers, shops, pubs and restaurants along with a tourist information centre. There is a train station linking Hastings and London. Hastings is a period seaside town with good facilities and only a 10 minute drive from Battle. Make sure to visit Rye, Bodium Castle and Bewl Water.
