Great Engeham Manor Barn, Woodchurch
This newly finished detached barn is situated in the grounds of a beautiful Manor House that dates back to the 1400s. The barn offers a lot of exposed timbers and is one the most light and airy Barns i have come across. It offers a great feel of space with the vaulted roof and if beds were found, would be comfortable for 10 persons to use. The 2009 price is introductory so make use of this opportunity to stay in a piece of Kent History at a good price.
The Barn
The entrance hall leads to the Vaulted open planned lounge and dining area with woodburning stove. New quality furnishings have been used and to good effect. The Galley style kitchen off the dining area, has a breakfast bar and is well equipped with all mod cons. There is a twin bedroom on the groundfloor and a bathroom with shower, w/c and basin. There is also a single bedroom with its own w/c and basin. Upstairs offers a double Kingsize bedroom with a cleaver surround. Due to the nature of the roof the surround is about 6ft high and doubled on the outside as a music and book library. Old LPs and a player are for your use! There is a single bed off this landing with a pull curtain for privacy if required. There is an additional landing with 2 club chairs and coffee table with elevated views to the garden. Glass of wine and a good book with some music from years gone by! This is where i would spend a lot of time in this lovely property. There is also a private outside area with table and chairs.
The Location.
Great Engeham in its day was part of a farming community so very much in the Kent Countryside. It is mid way between the award winning village of Woodchurch with its windmill, Rare breeds centre, 2 pubs and selection of shops, and the village of Bethersden, again with pubs and shops. Nearby Tenterden is great for restaurants, pubs, supermarkets and coffee shops. Dont miss this town or nearby Rye. Stunning Hill top town! Great access to all parts of Kent from this central position.
