"Leofwynn" Hastingleigh in North Downs
Leofwynn is the name of the Ancient Saxon lady 938c, who use to live in the valley below this property. I think she would have loved this cottage with its elevated position well up in the North Downs of Central Kent. The former barn and stable block has just completed.Its a fantastic one level conversion and offers 4 bedrooms. You are surrounded by fields and often sheep or horses. Spacious, light and airy!
The Cottage
The property has a large private courtyard to the rear and will be a suntrap in summer. Enjoy the herbs from the new central herb boarder. The large lounge dining area offers a large glass fronted woodburning stove, which combined with the 2008 insultation requirements offers a really cosy feel. The well equipped kitchen is of good size and offers a larder and breakfast table over looking the courtyard. The Master Bedroom offers a kingsize double or twin bed options and an en-suite shower room with w/c and basin. There is a further double bedroom, a twin and single bedroom along with a family bathroom with bath, hand held shower, w/c and basin.
The Location.
Hastingleigh is a small hamlet high on the North Downs and close to many walks including The North Downs Way and Wye National Nature Reserve. The views alone on the drive to and from the cottage from the nearest town of Wye is worth coming for alone. Canterbury, Ashford with its International station and Designer Outlet are close by and trips to the beach are possible within 20 minutes. Pub with great food a 3 mile walk or 15 minute walk to the local. Restaurants in Wye.
