It has been tastefully restored and refurnished in 2010, retaining some original features. The Cottage
Mallard cottage comprises a large studio with new kitchenette equipped with a full gas cooker and microwave oven. The dining/living area has a dining table, four chairs, sofa bed, colour TV, Radio/Cassette, two armchairs and wood burning stove and additional electric heater. A Shower Room with w/c and basin and a bedroom with twin beds or kingsize double as required, complete the accommodation.. Outside a private terrace, with garden furniture, overlooks the pond (unfenced) and the surrounding countryside. Washing machine, dryer and freezer are all available in the communal lobby.
The Location
The countryside offers plenty of opportunity for the energetic and gentle walker with public footpaths covering the surrounding area. High Halden is a short walk away and has a local pub that serves good food and a very pretty church.Tenterden, only ten minutes away, offers a selection of quality shops along with restaurants, traditional inns, antique shops, tea houses, local park and leisure centre. The cottage is also well situated for visits to National Trust properties, castles beaches, gardens and vineyards. Many other sports and leisure facilities are available locally including golf, horse riding, sailing and other water sports.
